The Bus Driver/After Care Assistant teacher will help support the day-to-day operations of the after-school program including transportation on daily routes, activities, arts and crafts, games, educational programs, and homework.

Responsibilities

  • Transport children on daily routes and weekly field trips
  • Always promotes safety by keeping first aid supplies on bus fully stocked
  • Ensures the bus rules are announced and followed
  • Complete thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and records all information, such as gas level, mileage, and maintenance designated forms
  • Cleans out bus each day
  • Helps with the daily operations of the afterschool
  • Assists with activities such as homework, games, arts and crafts, and educational programs
  • Enforces all YMCA childcare rules and regulations and ensures safety
  • Greets new arrivals and introduces them to other
  • Reports camper complaints to leadership and helps to resolve the complaints
  • Supervises and interacts with children
  • Assists in organization of age-appropriate activities
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess appropriate class license
  • Safe driving record.  A current MVR will be required
  • Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to commercial passenger vehicles (bus)
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Must pass reference checks and background screenings, which include fingerprint check
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills

Posted Salary Range

USD $14.81 - USD $16.50 /Hr.
